Leave your family memories. Give them fewer mysteries.
Who knows where the important documents are? Which person would recognise the insurance paperwork? Where would your children look for your wishes? A family legacy plan turns the answers you carry in your head into something the people you love can use.
Full grace and warning periods, required warning email acceptance and two accepted-contact confirmations stand between a missed check-in and release.
Your words. Prepared for your people.
At a glance
Family legacy planning means preparing practical instructions, document locations and personal messages for chosen people. OscarOK helps organise that information and share it through a check-in and trusted-contact process.
01
A different kind of inheritance
Your legacy includes the everyday knowledge that makes life work: who to call, where to look, what needs attention and which memories you want to explain. Writing it down can be a small act of care long before it is needed. Begin with the question your family would otherwise have to ask five different people.
02
Give each person the part that helps them
An adult child may need household instructions. A sibling may know your family history. Someone helping with your estate may need the location of records. Choose recipients for each vault item so a personal message and a practical document do not have to go to the same people.
03
Build it through ordinary conversations
Ask your contacts whether they are comfortable helping. Explain that an invitation is a request to participate, not immediate access to your information. Put a review date in your own calendar and revisit the plan when relationships, accounts or circumstances change.
04
Know when information can be shared
OscarOK releases information only after a missed check-in, a full 30-day grace period, at least 14 days of warning after required emails are accepted by the provider, and confirmations from two distinct accepted contacts. It does not verify death. A check-in or pause can cancel a pending escalation. Keep anything needed immediately, such as urgent care instructions, available through another arrangement.
Your starting checklist
Name two people you trust and discuss their roles.
Write one instruction someone else would struggle to work out.
Record where important original documents are kept.
Choose recipients and explain any sensitive boundaries.
Add a personal note and review the plan as life changes.
A practical starting point
One useful first item
“If you need the household paperwork, start with the labelled folder in the study. It lists our providers and the person who helps us with each one. The original documents are kept separately; their locations are noted inside.”
Common questions
Is family legacy planning only about money?
No. It can include document locations, household knowledge, family stories, practical wishes and messages. OscarOK shares information; it does not distribute money or transfer ownership of assets.
Do I have to organise everything before starting?
No. The Free plan includes three vault items, two trusted contacts and monthly check-ins. Start with a useful instruction, then expand your plan at your own pace.
